Iced Energy Synchronized Skating Teams

Iced Energy’s mission is to create a positive atmosphere for skaters who desire to train and
compete successfully within a team environment

Operating under the umbrella of the Newmarket Skating Club, Iced Energy has been fielding
Synchronized Skating Teams since 1995. We are very proud to have produced National Bronze
medalists in 2001 and 2002 and Novice National Champion teams in 2003 and 2004. In
2009-10 Newmarket is represented by six Synchronized Skating teams; four youth teams, and
two Adult teams.

Synchronized Skating helps develop co-operation, teamwork, and social skills, and has been
shown to help keep youth interested in Figure Skating. Iced Energy requires that our youth
skaters be enrolled with a Skate Canada affiliated club, in order to maintain and develop skill
levels. More than 50 Newmarket Skating Club skaters participate in our four youth teams, but our
membership consists of skaters from surrounding Skate Canada affiliated club.
